Sleepless Ramblings....

It's 5am on Christmas Eve, and I have yet to sleep a wink. I'm sick, but I don't have time to be sick. My body is just responding the frantic pace that I have been running at for the last month. I woke up yesterday with a bit of a cold and a sore throat from post-nasal drip, which was completely exasperated by leading the hymns at church this Sunday. Now I am sitting on my parents couch writing my farewell sermon for New Life, (actually blogging about writing my farewell sermon). My throat is raw, my head is pounding, and I am so tired that I cannot sleep.

I have so many things going through my head right now. I have so much packing left to do before Thursday when we load the truck, but I won't be going home until Wednesday. I can't stop thinking about all the things I have to do at the new house before Marianne and the boys arrive. And I just saw a coming out Christmas card from my cousin Liz and her girlfriend Mandy. I'm surprised, but not all that surprised. I love her and I hope she knows it.

My boys just woke up and they think it's Christmas, and they're so excited, but it's not and now I have to break it to them. But it made my morning to see their excitement and joy. I love Christmas, probably because I love Christ.

Merry Christmas everyone.

It is a bit ironic that even though we're a pilgrim people confessing pilgrim theology, we still find it difficult (and stressful!) to move to and fro! 10 different residences since '97 has taught me that!

Glad to hear things are moving along! Keep in touch, and merry Christmas!
